    2012/2013 Ford Transit Mule Spied

Looks the future of the new ford van is very near.

The reason I did a search on this is because I saw one driving down the road, passed me in the opposite direction on Saturday.

The reason it grabbed my attention is because of the grill, it was not the same one in the attachments, more of a "Ford" grill easily identifying the van.

From the rear it looks like a last generation Sprinter.

    I want one!

I've been looking at those for a long time and since I'm changing to mostly service and few installs, it would be nice.

I argue the small engine issue- it seems anemic. I like to hit the gas and GO!.

My plan is to keep my truck with the lift to do occasional installs and towing- but I have to do it soon before the truck peters out.

I also want to find a low mileage one -used- to get that price down where I can pay cash.

I told a dealer off last month. He had a 2010 Transit with 68,000 miles on it and wanted $17,900.00 (They were 20k new). I said "BS"- I'll give you $10k cash for that mileage. It's half used up- no warranty, no records of upkeep, and has tool shelves which means it's been used harder than normal. His only reply was "But It has new tires".

They don't tow which I don't like and for a few more bucks, one can get a F150. But it is a nice van to scoot around and do all day driving in streets and tight spots.

I'll might go in and make an offer on a new one, but I'm cheap and usually get the best price they have and then slam them with "OK- you pay the TT&L and I'll take it"! It gets them every time.

Looks like another GENERIC EUROPEAN van.

Thought FORD would do something different than copy the SPRINTER.

Ford has also sent out a proposal to the United Auto Workers union that discusses a new product to be built at the automaker's Avon Lake, Ohio facility starting in 2014.

That's the facility that just happens to be the current home of E-Series production.

I would not be offended if they put the 4.5L Diesel from the LCF in it. Then I really got a reason to buy a drum 0f 15w-40, I think I can get another 10 yrs out of my 7.3 PSD.

It looks just like a Sprinter. If they can make it not rust out in 2 years like a sprinter then they should be good.
To the man who always did it right. I love you dad and I will miss you to much for words.

It's more like the Sprinter is a poor copy of Ford Transit, which have been sold under that badge in Europe for over thirty years. They've have done gradule upgrades during that time.
