    Question

    I'm also getting a quote for a standard 40 gal water heater installation at $900 - I'm NOT asking for prices - but just opinions from professionals - this seems very high for a water heater purchase and install.

    I guess I'm asking does this seem high? I thought a better range was $500 - $600.

    Get more than 1 estimate. Then you'll have an idea if your first one was high or not.

    Ask some friends orneighbors if they've had theirs done recently and what it cost, also co-workers.

    pricing not allowed. i can tell you due to new regulations on construction of gas water heaters prices took a big jump.
