According to this guy, Whirlpool and Kenmore were made by Janitrol/Goodman? When was this?

Thumbs down No truth in promo ads..

That would be a little bias if you asked me, showing a Goodman promotion ad to cut the Carrier, and Lennox.

I'm sure if you look hard enough you could find the real facts on Goodman products, and it's repair and warranty service issues..

I'd almost buy the goodman just because I like those contactors better. Its a pain tryin to push a 8 gauge wire behind one of those screws. LOL

They didn't compare to Trane which has all the features shown, including rustproof basepan and coated screws.

They didn't show favorable points of competition, either. Enclosed compressors and demand defrost. I'd expect to see timed defrost on a Goodman.

I think somewhere around 8-10yrs. ago. ICP (Carrier) makes Kenmore now.
    WHY?

And Trane's/A.S. basepans are made of some kind of polycarbonate mat'l which not only resists corrosion & rust but also noise.

Could explain why Carrier/Lennox/Goodmans are still soooo darn loud!

My parents have a Goodman heat pump sitting on the porch of their condo and they just love how quiet it is compared to the brand that it replaced. Would you like to show some proof of what you stated?

As for the plastic bases; you need 6 pump ups under the heat pumps to keep the weight of the compressor from making them sag. Not saying it is worse or better, just that these are not viable comparisons of quality but rather personal preferences.

Goodman just came out with a Trane comparison pamphlet as well. Don't get me wrong, this is mostly marketing hype which as has been noted is done by all manufactureres. What is stated is accurate, but of course there are things that are left not stated.

Don't know about Whirlpool, but Sears Kenmore is parts of the U.S. were Goodman for about 5 years up to about two years ago. I was glad to hear when that stopped.

The Trane PTACs were also manufactured by Goodman/Amana until about two years ago when Trane started having them made overseas.

Definitely Kenmore used to be Goodman and I have seen Williamson on the Internet that definitely was Goodman, but have never seen the Williamson/Goodman brand in my neck of the woods. Maybe it is a regional thing.

I assume you are talking about the link? Yes, that site is certainly taking advantage of the marketing tools being made available. Ya gotta love hype and spin.

Goodman never made Whirlpool. Certainly made for Williamson.

Then there's his discussion of CR "flowed" testing. Of course we know that CR tested nothing, just surveyed members. Rheem was #2 as I recall but Ruud certainly not #7. Only thing "flowed" here is his data or manipulation of such.

Forgetting about the sales hype, I liked the “it’s not all about the brand of equipment used, but about who is doing the install and how good of a job they do” part of what I read.
