    sorry, Sensible pizza oven

    Sorry gents, SENSIBLE heat value for pizza oven in restaurant. 450 F and oven is in the conditioned space Thanks again

    What is the btu input of the pizza oven? I would start there first.

    Under a hood or vented?

    ASHRAE only gives a value for under a hood, so I think a hood will be required. The calculation of heat gain from the appliance is 130 btuh to the room per sqr feet of hearth opening. According to ASHRAE.

    So a 3x4=12 sqr foot hearth opening will have a heat gain of 1560 btuh.

    (ASHRAE rating for Oven (pizza) per sf of open hearth under a hood.)

    The oven is to be a showpiece in the restaurant. It is a clay oven covered in mosaic tiles. it is wood burning so the btu input is not available. I understand that it will be power vented

    My calculation from ASHRAE should give you a pretty close result.
