    New Tech Question

Recently worked on a dip in freezer. When I arrived, compressor was extremely hot. Put amp clamp around the Overload wire and restarted compressor. On start up, I read 17.9 amps. It dwindled down for about 3-4 seconds, ending at 17 amps. The overload popped.

Sometimes the compressor would run... getting 18.6 LRA, but only having 2.0 FLA.

Would this be a sign of bad start companants?

    Sounds like a bad capacitor.
