    Carrier coil CE3AXA060 5TON Can Accurater be replaced with TXV?
    If so, does anyone know of a part number that will work?,

    please note this is not a DIY site, but as an AC and Ref mechanic, i am very curious, what is an "Accurater" and where is one found on your carrier coil?

    It's the Carrier trade name for their "piston metering device". The only thing special about it is that the design is specific to Carrier Enterprises. IOW, you couldn't put a Carrier piston (AccuRater) in a Trane piston body, or vice versa.

    No, they are not interchangeable. And yep, an "AccuRater" is an acronym for an "accurate rate" orifice and it's just Carrier's lingo. I can remember AccuRaters as far back 1980, maybe earlier. And for any AC evaporator coil you can remove the orifice and use a TXV.
    The picture in my avatar is of the Houston Ship Channel and was taken from my backyard. I like to sit outside and slap mosquitos while watching countless supertankers, barges and cargo ships of every shape and size carry all sorts of deadly toxins to and fro. It's really beautiful at times.....just don't eat the three eyed fish....

    and make sure you remove the piston as on the carrier you can install the txv with out removing the piston
