okay - Let me formally thank everyone who tried to help. It is my fault to have posted here. When I read the 'Ask a professional', I understood that to be basic homeowners who wanted information relative to their equipment generally because there was a problem. It was my first post on the forum and I did not read it thoroughly as I should have. I understand that this is your livelihood and you certainly have every right to protect it and your knowledge. I get that. Were I financially in a position to call a tech, believe me I would do so. Being out of work for nearly 2 years changes things. Having a 3 month old daughter, living in the south with 90 degree daily temps and no AC, also has a bearing. All I was looking for was a little information which some of you generously afforded me. Again I apologize to anyone who was offended, thank you and will not post again.

One last word - to jeremyhall.tech.sc, its unfortunate that having 2 children you cant understand what goes around comes around - that helping someone out simply for the sake that they need it, is a good thing. Children emulate what they see. I certainly would like to post what I really think of you but your own posts speak for themselves. I will simply say, its really sad, on a number of fronts.

I tried, Jeremy tried, and several others tried to tell you, using a plethora of manner, that this is not a DIY site.

I do not believe that Jeremy has earned your disdain, because unlike yourself, I have the added perspective of hundreds of posters here and a great many clients. In fact, his response was pretty tame. Perhaps a bit direct, but not worthy of your parting words.

Helping someone IS a good thing. However, we are constrained by doing it within the terms of service. Jeremy did that, and you did not.

Maybe that's something for you to think about.

    Lemme tell ya a story.

I've got a friend of my moms. He has mold issues in his house. It's literally killing his wife.

I believe I can fix the mold issue. Dehumification system, UV lighting system, HEPA filtration, along with suggesting a mold specialist to clean the mold, and provide before and after biological testing.

I could "help him out" by doing it
and possibily kill his wife by not fixing the problem.

    OR:
I can pass the issue onto someone who has 10x the experience in dealing with these types of issues, and have a 100% assurance that everything is going to fine.
    Not to mention liability insurrance.

Had to tell the guy I can't help him.

You think we're not "helping you out".
    In reality, we're saving you.

Since we're on the subject of children:
Your daughter wants to put a fork in a socket. You tell her it's wrong, she keeps trying to do it. You explain to her whats wrong, and why not. She cries.

    Your the child.
"Better tell the sandman to stay away, because we're gonna be workin on this one all night."

"Dude, you need more than 2 wires to a condenser to run a 2 stage heatpump."

    "Just get it done son."

There is a problem with interchanging a 5 or 7.5 MFD capacitor. They so not fall into the 10% margin that is recommended for capacitor replacement. You can however use a higher rated voltage, you just can't use one rated at a lower voltage.
