Trojans quarterback Matt Leinart, the Heisman winner a year ago: "I still think we're a better football team. They just made the plays in the end."

What a stupid statement if they were better they would have won! yes and I think I am a better a/c man than Bob he just did not touch the 480 volt line, he made the better moves around the service box and that is why he is not in the hospital like me on life support.

USC should have won. The blame is on the coach, not the players. 1) going for 4th down instead of kicking field goal in first quarter. 2) going for it on 4th down on Texas's 40 something yard line instead of punting and making long field for Texas with only 2 min left. If I were the players, I would be very mad at the coach.
    Also terrible officiating !!
    Great game otherwise.

Richard must be a USC fan.

I didn't miss a play. Can't say there was poor officiating as a whole. They missed a couple of calls, but I don't think there's a game that doesn't have a couple wrong.

If White wouldn't have slipped on the 4th down play, they would've sealed the game with the 1st down. If they'd punted, it most likely would've been a touchback. 20 yards is one scramble and 15 to 20 seconds for Vince Young.

ML proved his lack of sportsmanship. His statement was a glaring example of his ego. He has great potential. I hope his head doesn't get in the way.

VY proved to be a true class act. It's refreshing to see a level-headed kid that doesn't act the punk and pull the 'me' crap after a good play.

BTW...I'm not a UT fan. My team sucked this year, and we lost a great coach. I hope Prince can fill those shoes at KSU.

The USC Trojans represent their state of California well, they all need to rejoin reality and realize that in their arragonce lies their major weakness. The truth always prevails and the Texas Longhorns displayed their superiority and quality as young men under the guidance of coach Mack Brown. Every team reflects their leader and the "Hollywood" effect was obvious in the lack of respect shown by USC, especially Leinart towards the better team that whupped their butts.

I saw half of it, Texas was controlling the line of scrimmage and making the plays.
USC was lucky to beat ND.
    They are arrogant, I agree.

    Smile

    Neither team had enough defense.
Mr. Heisman...aka Reggie Bush tried to get too cute with that stupid lateral, not to mention Vince Young being down on a lateral that went for a TD.
The game was very entertaining with lots of offense but I agree, Leinart sounded like a little brat that couldn't handle losing, with that statement.
Vince Young outperformed Leinart and Bush hands down.
    That guy is some player.
I'm glad Texas won and got the monkey off of Mack Brown's back.

No, JR, not a USC fan ( Bama fan )
JUst stated what I saw. Usc, IMO, should have won the game easily.
But their own mistakes, and the referees bad no call ( or review ), I believe cost USC the game.
    Mistakes:
    1) attempted latteral
    2) going for 4th instead of field goal ( up by ten )
    3) inteception in endzone
    4) going for 4th down on Texas's 40 something ( very dumb,IMO )

Will say that Vince showed everyone why he should have been Heisman. Never seen such a one-man team as Texas.

See in Texas that is all we need to whip them is one man remember Earl Campbell, when you only need one man why risk injury to all the others, and I sure would hate to be a team that let one man whip their butts what an embarrassment

Earl Campbell, Graduating from the University of Texas in 1977, he was the number 1 draft pick by the Houston Oilers and was voted Rookie of the Year as well as Most Valuable Player in his first professional year. By the end of his professional football career he had amassed 9,407 yards rushing, 806 yards receiving, 74 total touchdowns, and 10,213 total yards. He ranks tenth on the all-time rushing yards in the NFL and has appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated six times.
