Lennox Air conditioner. Cooling, but not as cool as last summer. Had unit checked, all up to par. Washed thoroughly the outside compressor unit fins. All fans running. No leaks, compressor running. Won't cool as well as 1 year ago. On a 95 degree day will not take it to 78-80. Used to have no problem at 72. Had a leak originally in '74 and was fixed with solder, not brazed. Last tech said system showed no leaks. Help again, Need help with what to say to the next tech. (replace the whole system??)
    thanks

Simple, you say "please locate and repair the problem".

How can you say you had it checked when on a 95 degree day won't take the inside temp below 78-80 when used to pull 72? Checked by whom? Now you're having heating probs. Make the phonecall, the money will be well spent.
If everything was always done "by the book"....the book would never change.

are you saying you had a leak repaired on system in 1974??

sounds like time for a new one, compressor could just be losing efficiency

With its age, it owes you nothing.

Check the duct work for leaks.

Telling us it was checked and the tech said it showed no leaks tells us nothing of value.
