So you are looking for someone willing to train future competition? This happens all the time but I would not be telling them that in advance.

I figured I might get replies like this. However, isnt there enough market to welcome competition into the business? I know A/C as trained by the USAF, 15 years service now. Just thought someone might be wiling to teach me the business side of the house. After all, we are all comrades in the profession right? I thought thats why this web site was started so professionals could help other professionals with problems. But I wil ask no more in this forum for this type of question.

You have a point. But with the market share in my area I didnt figure it would be an issue. I apologize for offending anyone and as I said before I will limit my input to professional issues and not job seeking.

Well, I work for a Big HVAC/R comp in Lincoln, Ne. ANd I know Omaha and all the companys their well. and it's very cut throat. They all hate each other, lol. Shoot, I have two good buddies that have small refrigeration, heating and air comps in omaha and lincoln and their barely making it. And their are good. I suggest, if you want to start your own HVAC Bizzzzzz, you go to smaller commnunitys and try to make some friends their, cuzz the big doggs in Omaha/Bellevue and lincoln will bury you alive. When it comes right down to it, people who venture from my comp and try to start their own business always get outa town cuz they know, what its like trying to compete with the city. Not fun...Lol, I have some guys who swear by that. But .good luck and

    I would actually

like to find someone like kernalbs and groom them into a future partner and finding the right candidate is like finding a needle in a hay stack.

    kernalbs:

Don't take it all to heart. Their are the cream of the industry on this site.
Plus, most here are rather close knit, or, they want to "feel" you out first before they open up.
Think for a minute. If you had a grocery store on one corner, and a guy wanted to work for you, just to learn the ins and outs of "your" business, just to open up another store on the other corner?
    Enough 'bout that.

Do a search on this site:
    Dowadudda on wireless
    Lusker on corps
    anyone on one man operations
    sales
    business
    heybob on flat rate
and so on. You'll be reading for days on end.

Re-submit as a pro, to read the pro section info. You're pro credentials will be looked into then.

Not at all put off. Wasa bit discouraged at first but after rethinking my question a bit more info in an open ended question might have cleared it up. As it turns out I may think of more schooling. The USAF trains well but only as much as you need in specific areas of need. More of a specialist. And after looking into some of the requirements in licensing I am definitely not as knowledgeable as once thought. Open book or not on a test. I would be interested in talking to the individual who said he would like to find someone like me for a future partner. It is going to be at least 4 years before I can put full time effort into a venture of this sort and it may be that long to get educated with the time I have.
