    Hi everyone

I just moved into a new home and changed the thermostat as soon as we took possession.

I installed a Honeywell RTH8500D and the furnace is a Bryant...not sure of the model right now.

My question has to do with the cycle time of the system.

The thermostat has an adaptive recovery system which will start the cycle before the set wake up time so the house is at the desired temperature at the set time.

We have noticed that the system will start up around 3am to get the house up to 70 degrees by 6:30am. We also noticed that the system will run for a few minutes, then stop, then start up a few minutes again later. It seems that it is cycling way too much, and we are worried that it is using way too much energy.

Is it normal for a high efficiency furnace to cycle frequently, or is there a problem with the thermostat?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Tony

You should call a service company to come out and have a look at the system, kinda hard to see what's goin on from here.
