Fraser-Johnston PAKU-LD12N080A. The induced draft fan (not the main fan)makes a ping that sounds like something is hitting with every revolution. You can hear it when the fan starts and when it stops.
Anyone know what it may be and what can be done?
It sounds like it is the fan hitting something on the housing but could it be bearings?

Could be something as simple as something in the wheel area "piece of trash" to the wheel bent or maybe in the motor itself you need to call a Pro to come take a look probably would be nothing more than a service call to fix.

The motor mounting screws were a little loose.
I am not sure what was hitting what, but tighting the screws helped.

If that helped, then it was the wheel hitting the housing. That component will need to be replaced in the short future.

If it has a cooling fan for the motor. Make sure the fan is not coming in contact with the guard cage. You can correct this by pushing the fan back on is shaft away from the guard cage.

if blade was just pinging off side of housing you should be fine as long as wheel was not damaged. used to be very common in lennox G16 units. as long as you got it good and tight they don't seem to loosen up again.

It was hard to tell what was hitting what. I do think it may have been the cooling fan hitting the guard. It only happened when the wieght of the motor was pulling down a little. I think it is good now (that the screws are tight)but will keep an eye on it.
