BUT...
the validity of a lawsuit CAN be prevented by not allowing the point of legal jeopardy to take place, i.e., if we do not allow DIY advice to be given, then we cannot be held liable for giving DIY advice that leads to injury or death.
So, no DIY for dangerous things. Advice like "check your air filter," or "is your thermostat set to cool" is permitted.
Not discussion of current draw for motors which is clearly directed by the desire to replace a motor oneself. THAT is DIY.[Avatar photo from a Florida training accident. Everyone walked away.]

Well, the Association of Trial Lawyers (now know as the less obvious American Association for justice) supports just one party.
Care to hazard a guess which party they wholeheartedly support?[Avatar photo from a Florida training accident. Everyone walked away.]

An engineer designs what he would never work on.
A technician works on what he would never design.

THanks guys for the * by the name. That was fast, only applied last night. Sorry about posting some without it. I was not aware of it at first for I have not been out here for while. Ya'll kept getting on to people about posting without authorization, I thought you were talking to someone else. It was funny when I realized you were talking to me,........
Bad information is worse than no information at all.

Can someone clarify? We can't post at all in AOP, or we just can't post advice?
