    compressor shot

    heres the situation compressor does not turn over i go to supply house buy a hard start kit nothing check for head pressor ziltch ohm out the terminals windings are good check terminals for grounded all good so why wont my compressor turn over im thinking its locked up any help or answers will be very helpfull before i go out and buy a new compressor.

    You are right. Lockup can happen even the windings are good. You also need somebody to check out why this happened before change the compressor.

    thanks for the info one of my buddies is a hvac tech works for some union in new jersey i also have my universal liscence completed a 11 month course have some knowledge in this area thanks for caring enough to not want me to get hurt.

    im thinking my compressor is under size for my house its only three years old my house is 1850 sq feet with my compressor 2 ton think the contractor that did the install did it bootleg job in my own opinion

    You can either match the size of your a/c to match the way your house is now, or you make improvements to your home to match the house to the system you have. This is done by air sealing & insulating the home, along with exterior sun screens to the windows etc...
    There is a guy in Houston Texas that has a 4000 sq ft. home with a 2 ton a/c and it keeps him nice & cool.
