i have left trane and now i am a yorkie...or jci guy...or something.

same career, different colored chillers. so far, so good. going through my safety training, have a van, tools, laptop and '360'.

somethings are quite different (i think it is a branch thing) and somethings are the same.

this also means that i am now part of the union, which is quite new for me. lots of changes this past week, mama is nervous, of course, i am excited.

for those of you with trane questions, i am still here. for those of you with york questions...i will be reading out of the manual for a while. party on wayne!

GA, I'm glad you got a good job, I remember you being dealt a crappy hand by your previous employer... Congratulations! I have a good friend who also just started with McQuay and he is enjoying it as well. He says it's good to be on the ground floor with the latest technology.

i didn't feel that i was being heard by management where i was at. i do not believe that it will be better at york, but when everyone promises the same thing, i am going to try something new. i do not believe that the grass will be greener, but it will be different grass.

the new direction will also expand my knowledge and capabilities greatly. the pay is about the same, the travel will be a bit more but i will be more well rounded at the end of the day!

The only thing left to do in another 10 years will be to go out on your own and compete with your former employers on the same territory you've been working for years. Ask Klove or Flange for advice on how to do that, it seems to be working out very well for those guys!

Yeah I've worn the meatball on my shirt for 15yrs. Our office went from franchised owned to corporate about 10years ago. It's defiantly different now. I would change too but all my customers are good old boys from south west Va. and I have a good relationship with them. I'm also about 2 hours from the office so I don't get into all the political stuff. Good luck with the new job.

Jay, your JCI office has made a major hire! If they don't already realize that, they soon will. I have known some of the local York Techs for years. Some since my Trane days, and some since before they went to York. They are a good group of guys and I have never heard them complain about York or JCI. I hope you are among as good a group. I feel I must say though, that I am sometimes disappointed and frustrated with dealing with JCI as a service customer, and I believe that is due more to policies and procedures than it is to the Techs.
