    Google micro inverters for solar. Each panel has its own micro inverter. This is how the Lennox system operates, it has to be connected to utility power. It is not designed to be used with batteries. You would need a DC solar setup for that.

    Because you would need a lot more panels and a large battery bank to store enough power to run the A/C after the sun went down. Which would cost a whole lot more.

    Its simply a way for a customer to be a bit greener.

    That takes a different kind of setup and inverter. Your up front cost is much higher.
