TRANE :(
Hello ALL!!!
TRANE Question?
How hard is it to do this
I have a MP580 controlling my chilled water pump VFD reference.
I have a TRANE BCU in my building, not sure the model, Summit 17.
I need to take an new outside air temperature off of a AI which I have done, AI 6. The old run ran through the PCM which read -1.3 on a 89 deg day. Replaced.
What I would like to do is use this. What I am unfamiliar with is variables and creating them? Is this too far out of my reach? So far I hooked up a physical point my sensor and went in to the 580, found program editor, deleted the OA sensor (old one) and made a new AI point, the difference though is the old one was a variable block (because I think it ran through a pcm) and the new one is a AI block.

You just need to find every spot the OA sensor was used in the program as the AV. Simply change each of those AV's to look at your new AI and compile and download.
Make sure to place things in hand as outputs could turn off on a program download.

I'm glad you understood what he was saying.

Ok
That is why when we go into summit "the program" it is still referencing the old OA 1.2 degree sensor not the new one. I need to go into summit and "graphics editor and find every Analog Variable, that sounds like the worst day of my life AAAAAHHHHHHHH

No, that is not what scroo is saying to you. He is saying you need to go in MP581's program and modify stuff in there. Not in the summit graphics.
Friendly piece of advice, you seem to be too green at this, get someone with more experience to look at this for you, otherwise you may screw things up more.
good luck.

And if it was indeed an OLD PCM that summit is referencing from, then you may need to find that AI in summit, and have it reference the new AI in MP581 rather than the AV of old/gone PCM.
good luck.
