It doesn't look any bigger than any other YK I have ever seen. Maybe they meant to say the plant as a whole will be one of the biggest in the US. I wonder if York56 will be starting those up.

A York? it's gonna be hot in that building alot.
It's hard to stop a Trane. but I have made one helluva living keeping them going.

I think there are 5 Chillers going in but I won't be cranking them over. I believe they are for the memorial museum.Arguing with your Boss is like wrestling with a pig in
mud.
After a while you realize that while you are getting
dirty, the pig is actually enjoying it.

Are those going to be steam turbine driven? You would think that would make sense but not sure if they will be tapping into the NYC steam system for this project. I have yet to see a steam driven chiller in person, or an absorber for that matter! I've always liked the Yorks. Then again all the chiller experience I have is with York and Carrier. Still have yet to work with a Trane centrifugal.

I saw a program on the WTC before 9/11 and they showed the chillers. They too used Hudson river water for the condensers. It showed them brushing the tubes, A guy was standing in the end of the condenser. I forget how many tons or how many chillers they had. I want to say 6 chillers. Was pretty cool.

There were I think 7 7000 ton york om chillers , the same type used in the pentagon , cape canaveral and any where there a lot of cooling . Some from my old shop went there to help with repairs after the 93 bombing .
