An ABC News poll in Iraq, conducted with Time magazine and other media partners, includes some remarkable results: Despite the daily violence there, most living conditions are rated positively, seven in 10 Iraqis say their own lives are going well, and nearly two-thirds expect things to improve in the year ahead.

Not really, I figure that society reflect most. Like here for instance and on this forum with people like you, Geer and gang . 3 out of 10 people are always pessimist and clinically depressed.

Poll results left out by james
2/3 of Iraqi's disapprove of the presence of U.S. and coalition troops.
A majority of Iraqi's say the country was better off before the U.S. led invasion.
1/2 now say the U.S. led invasion was wrong, up from 39% in Feb. 2004.

Bush Estimates That 30,000 Iraqis Killed
PHILADELPHIA - President Bush offered encouragement to war-weary Iraqis on Monday but acknowledged they have paid a heavy price — 30,000 dead — as a result of the U.S.-led invasion and its bloody aftermath. As Iraqis began voting in parliamentary elections, Bush said that no country has formed a democracy without "challenges, setbacks and false starts."
>>>> that works out to about 14 dead Iraqi's for every US soldier.
can that be even close to accurate?
is it more like 100:1, 200:1 or more?
is this guy smok'n the pipe - once again?

no einstein (not even close).
That's my point...the ratio should be 1,000,000 : 1!
The numbers don't hide this sad, sad state of affairs the Chairman of the Board has put the US in.
Exactly when is he taking up his NEXT fantasy job???

Tony, just sit back and watch how it is supposed to be done. We will let you guys have 4 years in the oval office ”maybe” next century when we have it fully bullet proof, and can put it on remote control.
At that time we will let you sit in the chair for a “day” only for a small fee.

Where you gonna find any candidates? When the dust settles a majority of Republican candidates will be in jail for treason or bribery. Good Luck.

among the many things the dumbass kneejerk republicans around here don't understand, is that those of us who can see the farce and the crime of the bush years.. are not pessimistic.
it is just that we value honor and value truth. we have a strong character that doesn't let us bend in the wind like a willow tree, like the kneejerk republicans who don't stand for anything...
when the first election bush stole was going on, they were against nationbuilding.... now they are for it.
when the bushies came in they said they would unite not divide.... but that was exactly the opposite of what they did.
we anti bush crowd come from all walks of life, but we all demand accountability for the leaders of this nation. the kneejerk republicans can live with the sham they have convinced themselves no one can do any better than.
the bushies don't mind that this president did nothing in a competent fashion, after letting the worst terrorist attack happen on their watch....
jamie and maiden, you guys just don't have any morals or scruples. and you are extremely ignorant of what is going on in the world and what the stakes are.
I for one want iraqi's to be better off. and I hope they will be able to handle things after we withdraw our 2-3 billion dollars a month we are spending there to build their nation.
We aren't pessimistic, we are realistic. if the bushies were a little more realistic, this country would be in a better place than it is now.
you guys aren't optimists, you are living in a self delusional fantasyland.
and most iraqis want america out of their country, like most americans want the bushies out of a job...
and frankly, i am a little more optimisic these days since the bushies have at most just another three years left, which means they can't be screwing this country up for four more years... like they have for the past five....
that is the ones who don't get jailed and impeached, they will be gone sooner...
and hell, the thought of that makes me happy.
but you dumbass republicans will probably attack the next democratic president who gets this country on a good financial setting for .... parking or speeding or something really serious again....

Guess what they said, 71% of the Iraq citizens said their lives were better.
To bad you are so full of it, you can not cover your tracks.
