the serial number of the XL950 t-stat

Who can help me to locate the model # and serial # of the Trane XL950 thermostat?
That unit is fastened on the wall and I did not see the related information.
(I need them for warranty registration.)

Does that mean I have to take down the t-stat to get the number?
I am afraid doing that will break the wire.
Should I call the company who installed it ? Or is there other way to get the #?

the installing company should register it for you .or they should give you a receipt with all model and serial numbers .if you purchased a 10 year parts and labor warranty ( highly recommended) the registration is not required
