    York Eco2 Chain Fault

    I have a York Eco2 (YPAL) rooftop unit that has been locking out one of the compressor systems on a "chain fault". The LPCO is OK. Trying to find out what a chain fault refers to.

    Do you have a complete model number. There are a few versions of the Y.P.A.L? Does it have a BFD or any other accessories?

    chain fault refers to the safety chain, a set of safeties in series, usually hpco lpco and the compressor motor protectors,
    if it has copeland scrolls, those motor protectors do go bad and are easy to change.
