If this is not a joke, definitely call someone that knows what they are doing and at least knows the terminlogy of the product.
Replaced a bad flame sensor but now my hsi is continuously blinking. The thermostat does not prompt any activity from the furnace unless I pull one of the leads froom the limit switch. Then the internall blower comes on immediatly but no gas, spark or flame. However at that point the hsi gives me the 4 blinks to indicate limit switch problem...Hmmmm

not enough info
i can say sounds like you have done all you can do
time to call a pro and have the unit fixed and service
why did you replace the flame sensor?
Not a joke. Have fixed this and others many times but am stumped by this one. Replaced the flame sensor because unit was lighting for 30 seconds or so then cutting off..trying again doing same. I replaced the sensor two years ago succesfuly and problem was fixed this time, no luck.
if the hsi is blinking, then replace it too.
You need professional help.

btw..robotec
I was an electronic tech in the military for years and know my way around a schematic. By passing the limit switch as a pratical test is not inherently risky.
It almost sounds like you were expecting it to start sparking & the gas to come on & light the flame when you pulled the wire off of the limit switch.Originally posted by piccolo

Life is like a jar of jalapenos. What you do today might burn your ass tomorrow.

Ok..
Firstly..
If a switch of any kind is stuck, bypassing that switch (temporarily) for the purpose of checking the status of the rest of the system is not out of left field and in this case the suggestion of another HVAC "tech".
Secondly..
RoBoTech..if brand bashers give the industry a bad name, how about elitist service techs.
and lastly,
Bilva..I can tell you never served a day in your life to be so rude about the issue. The French wouldn't have you!
So can anyone give me a little guidance and a little less sh**?

I can honestly say that a "constantly blinking HSI" is something I've never come across.
My thinking is that you need to go elsewhere so you can be with people that can help.

Not hsi
the status light, of course..
continuous rapid blinking
htg guy,
maybe they can help you with you with the spelling of isn't. oh..looks like I just saved you the trip
sorry, you are right. that was a rude comment.
if you had been in the french army, you would have called for help along time ago.
obviously your electronics background is not enough to troubleshoot your furnace, or you would not be here.
good luck. and thank you for your service to our country.

You already proved that you have no clue by pulling a wire from the limit. If you are serious, you need to call somebody that knows what they are doing. I hope you didn't just change the sensor because that cured your problem a few years ago. If that is the case, about 12 more parts and you should be back in business.

I may be wrong here. This troll does recognize my elitist nature.Originally posted by piccolo
