I have the official explanation
answering all of these stupid annoying meaningless addition questions reminds us of all those stupid assignments teachers us to give us in school. So we generally get mad and angry that we are asked to do it again. Red is the color associated with anger, and the hammer is associated with wanting to hit something out of anger. just call me cliff claven from cheers, anyway, this explanation sounds good to me
