rla/lra
whats the differance in these two? i know they are run load amps and load run amps but there is a big differance in the numbers. my understanding is that rla is the amps being drawn while running but what is lra?

Locked Rotor Amps. what the thing draws with no rotation-no back emf. untill the thermal safy trips or something melts wich ever comes first.

I thought rla was rated load amps....just an engineer's estimation of what a motor will pull under normal load.

On a lennox (and probably others)
rated load amps are the amps drawn during design conditions.
Which is high OAT and high indoor load
at least that's what I was told.
