I posted a week or so ago about a whistling noise when our furnace is heating with gas. Now I realize it's happening when the hot water heater is operating as well (louder when furnace on). It would appear it has something to do with the gas line since I don't hear it over by the hot water heater or the furnace. I know this is not a plumbing forum, but has anyone ever experienced something like this? Thanks.

    Range connector ?

Are they connected with a small flexible connector. If they are that's your sound.

If I was a general homeowner...

I think I'd be calling my gas supplier to make sure everything was SAFE!

    Hroper,

Is what connected? The gas lint to the furnace/water heater?

Is the gas line the corrugated flexible line? I bet it is, and the small lines for some reason act as a moose call. Take the line loose and blow through it, i bet it makes the noise, if so replace with a larger line.

    Keith,

    Lines appear to be iron.

Are you saying your only a major. LOL...

Call either the gas company, or a service company to check it.

Before you have no heat or hot water.

I had this same problem with a house I did two years ago. Turned out it was a faulty meter. The sound traveled thru the black iron gas line.
