    Hvac acting weird

Hi everyone. I just moved into a new home a few months ago. A/c had been working great until a few days ago. Everytime I put on the a/c my heat kicks in at the same time. I do have zoned thermostats in the home. They are not digital. Can someone give me any tips where to get started with this?

If you have a zoned system, I would call a professional.

Even the most skilled tech can be stumped by zoning.
"Better tell the sandman to stay away, because we're gonna be workin on this one all night."

"Dude, you need more than 2 wires to a condenser to run a 2 stage heatpump."

    "Just get it done son."

Make sure t-stats are set in cooling mode, which you might already have, then you could try turning one zone t-stat off, and turn the other one on and see if you still have the problem, could be just one zone with issues, or could be more to it , in that case you'll need to call for service.
