ahh- boiler season again!

Put this steamer in. HO had just bought house and was still in process of moving in. Put on new main air vents, too.




Fixed this setup on the gas line. I like the improvized gas cap. Wouldn't have helped, the elbow it dropped down from (for gas dryer) was so loose the pipe swung freely. There was duct tape on the tee off main line. We ended up redoping the line to the water heater also, since it all came loose on us when the boiler was disconnected from the gas.

Real nice close boiler work, swings on the header, auto feeder.
Too bad its a Burnham, do yourself a favor and keep the warranty close by

The blue box is a feeder. It has a counter on it so you can track water consumption. If it gets too high/month you call for service because there's a leak.

I think its Safe Guard that make the auto feeder, they are nice.

I have put in plenty of the I N series boilers, those swing joints are a must.

Why did you only use one tapping?

Nice location for the feeder into the system, through the loop a little temper before she gets into the shell.

I like to run the water supply in opposite the returns, to help temper the warter as you said, but there's not much space back there. We did leave enough space to get the water heater out, though.

Burnham had a reputation of crushing those plugs in the holes (their impact wrenchs at the factory didn't have adjustment) ,even then you'd have to open up the casing to get at the plugs to do the extra pipe. But the extra line would be nice.

Did you use mallebale fittings? I was told to always use cast iron on steam.
