I guess I've never been in a properly vented attic then. I was in one a few weeks ago that had a ridge vent, gable vents, and a powered fan/vent. It was 102 outside and over 130 in the attic.

sounds like a great way to get air out.....where is all the air coming in at? think of an attic like a chimney. it should have decent draft

You need to spend some time in Texas or Arizona. If that were true half the guys here would be without a job.
The picture in my avatar is of the Houston Ship Channel and was taken from my backyard. I like to sit outside and slap mosquitos while watching countless supertankers, barges and cargo ships of every shape and size carry all sorts of deadly toxins to and fro. It's really beautiful at times.....just don't eat the three eyed fish....

For the life of me I can't figure out why anybody would change a compressor based on temp split and a perceived inefficiency. What gives?
