    Thermostat control question

    I am beginning the process to have someone add a humidifier to my existing HVAC unit. I currently have a Trane XL80 furnance controlled by a VisionPro thermostat (model TH8320U1008). My house is approx 2200 sf and located in the Washington DC area. Currently I am considering to have the Aprilaire 700 installed. Is it better to have a Honeywell IAQ added in order to control the entire HVAC system or am I better off using Aprilaire's fully automatic humidistat instead?

    Both will work fine, but I would vote for the IAQ. It will appear identical to what you have and operate the same, plus you will only have one control to deal with, and you won't have to pull additional wires to the stat.
