Is it bad when a VFD spits out toxic spooge?

The spooge came from this hole

We decided the drive needed to go away so we parked a new and improved drive right next to it

I love these Johnson Controls drives... they're relabelled Cutler Hammer/ Eaton drives with added features. Amazing how small a modern drive is, this one is 100 HP driving a condenser loop. All the extra cabinet filler is the electronic bypass setup.

It was hard and plasticky... The caps had been leaking, I think this stuff was used to seal them or something. This site has really dirty power, dropped legs and low voltage all the time. The new drive has already ratted out the power company a couple times and an upgrade to the grid is coming.

On the newest chillers I work on with VFDs the capacitor banks are soposed to be changed out every 7 years or so. I don't look foward to that.
