    Question

    Hey guys,

I recently got a new package gas system (A/S 3 ton) and the thermostat (vision pro) offers an option to have the fan run randomly about 35% of the time, regardless of whether the system is on or off. Presumably this recirculates the air, while filtering it at the same time.
Does this actually help do anything? Thanks.

With your duct work on the roof, it will tend to cool the air causing the heat to come back on quicker.

    Beenthere,

Thank you for the answer. I did notice that the house was one or two degrees cooler. Does this mean that in the hot season it will heat the air, causing the AC to come on sooner too? Does it actually filter the air, or is it just "perception"?

It does filter the air, since it has to go through the air filter to be recirculated.

And in the summer the air will pick up heat from the duct.

Does your system have a filter on it if it does then yeah it is filtering the air.
