POE and MP39

Just read on Duponts site that only AB or MO is recommended with MP39. Thought i was ok to run with POE. Wouldn't 134a be a better choice with POE on a smaller system anyway?

Got a link to that? Has something changed since the retrofit guide?

Either alkylbenzene (AB) lubricants or polyol ester
(POE) lubricants can be used with Suva®
service refrigerants. In some cases, mineral oil may be
acceptable (see below). These lubricants are available from DuPont Distributors

That's strange. I thought MO was only good with small cap tube systems that had good oil return.

I'll just keep using it in the small systems without an oil change. And maybe ask the compressor manufacture on the bigger stuff.

I have seen mp-39 in med temp systems quite frequently, and have used mp-39 as a retrofit on old r-12 reach ins, with out having to change the oil, with Great success. I've also used it in supermarket refrigeration, however have changed the oil to ab200.

Poe oil is backwards compatible, therefore there is no reason why you couldn't use it with mp-39 if you had to or wanted to, other than it quite a bit more pricey than ab.

Must be a typo they mean poe. Using mo is a gamble. And remember you should cut some cap tube off on retrofit jobs to 39, or 134

I have left the MO in MP39 larger supermarket systems and have been running for over 8 years without any problems.
