I am refinishing a portion of my basement as a home theater room. After a lot of investigation, I will be installing baseboard electric for my heat and a cooling only mini-split.

Is there any way to control both of these from a single thermostat? In other words, when it gets too cold in the room the thermostat would tell the baseboard electric to turn on. If it gets too warm, the same thermostat would tell the mini-split to turn on.

    Thanks
    Dave

I dont think it is possible because a baseboard t-stat usually works on 120 Volts. Mini-Splits usually run on 24 volts. Sorry, gotta use 2 thermostats.

Not true, if you install sme controls you can make it work on a single t-stat.

This would have to be done by a good tech.
