Just curious i had a fellow tech tell me that he had an 70# net oil psi. Today
My response was did u calibrate your gauges?? And he was working on an rack system.Now , i think i remember some where that u cant have and net oil that high?? i am researching this nowto see if i could find anything on internal relief on compressor(copeland) Have any of u guys seen such high net oil psi??? any replies are thanked in advance.

Yes..there was a bunch of build-up in the oil system

What points did he hook up to?
Was it a Carlyle Compound?

You get a coating of what looks like burned up oil on the insides of the pump discharge line. All that pressure is squeezed into a smaller tube than normal. Saw it on an r22 low temp compressor where the demand cooling seloniod had failed.

The oil pump bypass valve should open at 60 psi. There could be blockage causing the higher pressure or the guages could be off.
