Literally, I have a pain in the neck from a pinched nerve. Its like having a really bad stiff neck with pain that shoots down my left arm and a slight tingleing in my hand. So, my wife is a physical therapist and drags me into the rehab. center this morning. I was put on a machine that stretches your neck, had a deep tissue ultrasound, and electrical stimulation. What a difference!! I feel much better. Im going to go a few times a week until it goes away.

Pinched nerves suck and I would not wish it on anyone. Be careful out there!

That electrical stimulation stuff rules! When I pulled a muscle pretty good a few years ago I had to do the physical theropy crap.

The only good parts of that was the massage (at least when the cute girl did the massage anyway), and when they electrocuted me. Wish I had one of them things at home.

Just had the surgery 5 weeks ago. Specialist said therapy now and surgery later or just get it over with. Fused C6&C7. It was a piece of cake. Nothing real bad. You have to stay in the house for two weeks and then no driving for two more. Wear a neck brace for four weeks total, that was the worst part of it all. BUT there sre some good drugs nowadays.

I had exactly the same symptoms you describe and was told that eventually the damage would be permanant. So, I decided not to wait. Five weeks out, I'm glad I had it done.

Damn, you had to say "fused", I was hoping they'd go in there with a Dremel tool and let me have normal movement in my neck... Did you have sharp pain right through the middle of the shoulder?

A gew years back I fell 16' from an attic and landed on my feet. Being as heavy as I am I was lucky I didn't break anything. I ended up going to see a nuerologist from the pain and found out I jammed up basically everything from my ankles to my neck. I went through PT and surgery and a few other things, at the end they said there was nothing else they can do for me except keep me medicated. No thanks, they had me on everything from aspirin to oxycontin. Finally at the end they gave me one of those electro pulse machines to take home and use. I use it even today, it has to be the best thing ever, I can either use the points on different points of the body or connect it to a belt for my back or neck. Matter of fact I used it this morning after I fell asleep on the couch last night again.

whip...it may look funny but I have used one for years. It has kept me from having the same symptoms that you have. C4,C5,C6.

There are several guys I have let borrow mine and they loved it... bought their own. It just works.

I don't know a whole lot about the spine. The doctor told me there were a couple of things that would cause a pinched nerve. One was a ruptured disk (which was my problem), nothing "cures" that except removing the disk and fusing the vertebra. You can also have a bone spur in there and then they can dremel it out and make you all better. There are probably other things but that's all I know about (arthritis, bursitis, just plain meaness, ?).

I had some pain between the sholders but mostly down my left arm to the elbow then numbness and tingling from the elbow to the finger tips. Sore neck most of the time.

Can't say I get it in my neck, but I have that problem with my back from time to time, and it really sucks when you can't stand upright or walk for a few days.
