Slimduct-Wall of Fame of Wall of Shame

    What do you think?

Consider-double blocking of 2 X4's instead of use of offsets and the exposed lineset above the windows. Price cannot be discussed here, but you would not believe what we paid for this. Quote said "encase the piping
within Slim Ducting which provides a clean finished look".

Hopefully that at least the back of the house? I totally agree that they should, at the very least, have had some offset fittings to make a professional job of it.

It is the side of the house facing our entertaining area of the yard, but it should not matter. It is not a professional, finished look.

Although, there are SOME times where the slimduct has to be offset, such as a stone (not brick) wall, where the surface changes by 3" every 4", this is not one of those times.

    Pretty sad install.

I think the whole installation needs a rethinking, did the piping really have to go out this wall and run between the windows? I bet the HO would have preferred the piping running down the inside of a closet and then existing out the side wall in a less conspicuous area, or maybe down to the basement and out the sidewall.

Don't tell me it can't be done my area is filled with these types of old houses. We rarely run the piping exposed outside.

Quality creative installers are worth what price?
Quote should have read "encapsulating a portion of the piping"

This was a replacement job. I spent a good deal of time with the owner of the company trying to figure out where we could locate the condenser unit to avoid this lineset issue, and he assured me he would make it look better. When he came back to look at what is shown in the pictures, he did not really see the problem. There were many other issues with this install detailed in other threads.

It is hard to find people who have pride in workmanship anymore. It is a shame.

    OOOoooooo...pretty...sigh....

    Agree with Attic Ace.

If I showed up and my install looked like that I would have the installers. Craftsmanship is definitely not a expression here.....more like its almost beer 30 and we need to get done today. Sorry this happened to you bydabeach.

    Awning

I think I see brackets above the 2nd floor window. Good luck reinstalling that awning if that is what they were for.

Listen I only had 3 10ft lengths of cover pipe and 2 elbows. what do you want me to do, stretch it?

    Hahaha

It amazes me what people do and get away with, no quality control at all.
