Reading some of the posts about goodman products i am well aware that trash talking is not good for anyone, but for the past three days 6 service calls was a string of good man product failures the truth of the matter is you only get what you pay for!!!

You had 6 calls on the same unit, or 6 calls for 6 units?

So when I do 10 calls on Trane units in 2 days, that makes trane a garbage unit then?

Ever think we get so many Goodman / Janitrol calls cause there so many installed all over the country. I'd like to know by volume what mfg sells the most equipment. I'd bet the consumer will pay for the lowest price one every time.

I had 4 service calls last week, all were "xyzkh" furnaces, installed at the same time in one subdivision..maybe they are garbage too..

    p.s. they were not Goodmans

a good thread could be made out of that subject. what percent of sales are due to cost factors as compared to sales through professionalism and the equipment brand used.

The truth of the matter is I'll bet you go back to these same calls again...why? You have jaded yourself against a brand so now everytime you see one you turn into "Super Brandbasher" and diagnose the brand instead of the problem.
How about doing a complete analysis on the entire system, was it installed correctly or slammed in.
Compare it to this...You have a headache, you take aspirin and the headache go's away, problem solved? No...the next week you have a stroke because the cause of the headache was high blood pressure...if the industry would get back to it's roots and start acting like professionals instead of know it alls we might actually start being respected...and repair units based on their true core problem...not their name.

Senior tech, you hit the nail on the head! Find and fix the core causation problems.

Lusker: “What percent of sales are due to” cost factors as compared to sales through professionalism and the equipment brand sold.

Incorporate within that question: “What percent of sales are due to” advertising and other promotions as compared to the differential of equipment performance and durability.
