The gas furnace is starting up properly and has an automatic pilot lighter system. The unit is goming to life but heat output is minimal and the unit is (if not shutting off) not running without a reset at the thermostat unit in the hall.

I am hearing a slight ticking sound that seems to be from the blower motor fan where it is lightly striking the housing.

My question is; if the blower is slightly rubbing and the blower is not reaching full speed, would the unit have a sensor that might tell the unit to shut down or not kick back on.

I have to see if I can adjust the motor as well as get the system specs and information off the ID plate but just wanted to throw out a basic question. We are currently using a gas heater (thrmostatic control) but it can not heat enough of the house for comfort.

Thanks for any info.
