DWM Copeland with R407C

Hi all. I am working at a site that has a unit made my DWM Copeland. There is not to much information for this new install.

What I found out so far is that the nameplate says it takes R407C, And 40Kg of it.

It looks like this unit came from europe?

Best way to check for leaks? Vaccuum?

What is the avalibility of R407C?

United Refrigeration carries it in my area. Priced about like 410.

I have some process chillers out of Japan with 407c now.

....gauges in bars and pascals too.

It's a brave new world.

If it's a new install and already leaking, why not call the contractor back?

I don't know if it has any leaks yet.

It looks like they want me to perssurize it with nitrogen to 4bar and check for leaks.

In the automotive field we pulled a vacuum and see if it held for around one hour or longer (overnight) if you had the time.

This unit was made in europe for there is not to much information on it.

DWM Copeland are made from Europe

You may pressurize the system with Nitrogen.

Evacuate the system down to 0.3 mbar

R407C are available as an HFC alternative to R22

4 bar- what's that gonna prove -the suction runs higher than that

its about 59 psig and suction pressure can reach as high as that. whats the model #?

Good morn techs!!I have a New Data Aire split.It came in pinched and brazed from the factory?It was in stalled by pipe fitters.Name plate says r-22,but the gov. wants all systems changed and they want 407..It has a cop-scroll 1.5 ton compressor..The sight glass has already started turning so we know what I got to do there,flush system nitro,chg dryer, chk no leaks,pull vac..My major concern is after reading around is the oil change..I will have to cut out the scroll and dump the oil,but will i get enough oil out.I have not used this 407 yet but the place im working is expecting another 20-30 of the same NDA systems.I would like to get it right the first time.Tryin to get the manuf but they seem to be busy all the time..

Thanks for the info Aircooled53..I have also found out that the cope-scroll has already got poe oil,so the change over should not be so bad.Thanks again for the specs...
