My heater cut off...thought it may be the thermostat as it would blink on and off after I removed it from the wall and moved it around...bought a new thermostat and installed. The heater ran 5 minutes and cut off...suggestions? It is a forced air neatural gas furnace with an electronic thermostat.
You really should call a local contractor.
You could continue to change parts, start trying a few adjustments, clean this & fiddle with that, but after a while, you will still most likely will need to make the call.
Go ahead and do it now, and save yourself quite a bit of trouble.
(PS: Check your filter.)

Too little inf to be of any help with giving you suggestion on what to do.
Not sure call a pro.
Friggin amazing the questions you see asked on this forum. Are people complete idiots or what. Haven't got clue as to how a furnace operates but are looking for ways to fix it themselves. Call a friggin tech man before you kill someone. Next time one of the kids is sick, save some money and don't call a doctor but post the symptoms (or just say he doesn't feel good) on a forum and fix him yourself.

Welcome to HVAC TALK. However this site has rules against giving out technical advice to DIY'ers. I have attached a link below for your convenience.
Here's something to think about though...
When was the last time you had that unit cleaned and inspected?
Now you have a problem with the unit. Fuel costs are skyrocketing.
So why not call in a professional to repair the unit? While they are there they can clean and inspect your unit to insure a safe living environment for you and your loved ones. Not to mention, having an efficient running system could save you more than the cost of the service.
What's your safety worth? I'm guessing more than the repair bill.
Thanks for your understanding.
