I'm an HVAC vo-tech teacher with fifty-one students currently in my program. If you are currently working in the field, what is a good "one sentence" piece of advise you could give to someone in high school currently training to work in the HVAC field? Thanks

Do it right or find another line of work, there is more to this than slamming filters and banging on ductwork.

There's probably no advice in the world a high schooler is going to listen to, after all we knew everything at that age.
If everything was always done "by the book"....the book would never change.

Tell them,when you get in the field ,remember two things.
1.If the job isn't worth doing right ,then it's not worth doing at all.
2.If you don't have the time to do it right the first time,how in the *&^%,will you find the time do do it over again.
Signs for your classroom;
1.If You Don't Know How It Works,When It's Working Right,How Will You Know When It's Fixed??
2.Learn To Read The Instructions!!!

Request: Sign up for the Pro sections on this site,we need more interaction with those dedicated to training the future techs in our industry.
PS.They need to get and keep a "Clean Driving" record,it's critical and often difficult for young people to understand.
