You see? This is why I do not live in the city.

People are basically nuts. Really. What possible difference does it make to a neighbor if I am growing tomatoes in my yard? I just don't know. They have the law and legislation on their side and they can put a stop to it right now. Cease and desist. Okie-dokie, so I am going to just back away calmly and not look you in the eyes, as that may agitate you.
Live in your cities, eat yourselves, I don't really care about you people anymore. You do nothing but cause trouble for the rest of us, you want it this way you want it that way and you are never satisfied so you insist on screwing with everybody else because you are unhappy with your world.
I can't help you, honestly, I would if I were able. I just can't. So leave me alone. Please, just leave me alone. Is that too much to ask?I draw all my schematics in crayon now. If they cannot always be correct, they can at least be colorful.

If the fall is over, mmmm let's say, 6 feet or so,.. I do not 'bounce' very well.

In addition to cities, I would also consider places with a Home Owner's Association to be unlivable for the same reasons the article brings up.

I grew up in Boston. People were different 30+ years ago. Growing up in Southie and Dorchester, there was a lot more of a neighborly feeling back then. I've lived in North Carolina for the past 10 years and i've found it doesn't matter where you live, most people are a lot more selfish and act more like a$$holes these days. Maybe it's due to the fact that there really isn't anything that bonds us to our neighbors anymore.

Bonding?
I don't know if that matters. Why would anyone care if I want to grow tomatoes in my front yard? Bonded or not, you might be sleeping with my daughter and wife alternately. Very bonded. But how is it possible to be a complaint against growing vegetables? Your neighbor may be nuts, okay I got that, but the city government has to be nuts too?I draw all my schematics in crayon now. If they cannot always be correct, they can at least be colorful.

Same here. I live about 7 miles from the city limits. I almost never go into town other than to get a part and once a month or so for groceries. My wife and I are very seriously planning on moving further into the woods than we would have liked considering the 5 acres of land and house is paid for here. Wyoming is really looking nice in about 15 - 20 years.
Used to be peaceful but since Katrina we have inherited a lot of trash with the good here that seem to want to make this place like New Orleans.

Cohesive? Really? Do since when do we have to have a cohesive society to grow tomatoes in our yard? It is a frigging tomatoe plant for crying out loud. This is not a cultural symbol or religious icon, basically just a vegetable.
Vegetable. Should it be a matter of concern for city politics? I personally do not think so. Kinda liberal, I would think the effort should be rewarded if anything. You know, "going green" sort of. In a small way, in your yard, but theoretically "green". Not that it is anyone's business. But if it were anyone's business then I figure we should all have such gardens.I draw all my schematics in crayon now. If they cannot always be correct, they can at least be colorful.

Sorry folks, my bad. I just realized I was in the ARP section where people bust balls for the fun of it.
Good luck Flange.
Good luck with your tomato thing, tough guy.

At least the tomato guy wasn't arrested.
" WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - The South Carolina 14th Circuit Solicitors Office has dropped drug charges previously filed against a Walterboro man accused of growing hallucinogenic mushrooms at his home.
Walterboro police officers thought they stumbled upon an illegal psilocybin mushroom-growing operation at a house on Warren Street on May 10.
Investigators went ahead and charged 30-year-old Edward V. Spearman with trafficking in psilocybin, even though tests had not confirmed the ingredient to be present in the mushrooms discovered at the scene.
Spearman and his attorney told authorities that the fungii growing in his house were actually shiitake mushrooms, native to east Asia.
Well, the tests recently came back negative for psilocybin and the charges were dropped last week, said 14th Circuit Solicitor's spokesman Daniel Brownstein.
