Residential equipment rented from utility company? Any experience with this?
Recently we got a call into our heating and ac company from a company based out of toronto that rents heating and direct hot water heaters to residential customers on behalf of utility companies. They were looking for contractors to hire in our area to install the units that they rent. Does anyone have any experience with these companies? I did a little research online but couldn't decide whether or not this whole renting thing is a scam or just an up and coming thing.

Their DOOR to DOOR sales people are a pain , they cannot understand that most people either own their HW tanks or rent from Enbridge / Direct Energy.
Installs / repairs are usually flate rate same as with the OTHER companies.
