    You can always have a contractor come out and inspect the chimney, and determine if it needs lined.

    If its condensating in the chimney, it will be easy for a contract to see.

    Again - I really appreciate all the responses. I am not looking to do this myself, just looking for proper information to decide with. The flue does not have condensation problems visible from exterior view. I just figured that given the raw data, this would be an open and shut case for you guys. Oh well, I guess I'll have to count on the knowlage of whomever I hire. (Kinda un-nerving prospect given the range of views found here.) I'll pray for guidance. Thank you all. -J
