    Installed a water Heater

Well had a call the other day and was to install a water heater. The flue set up was going at a 45 Degree to the flue for the furnace and they joined up. So I went and just attached the flue to where the old one was and just used aluminum tape to seal the openings. Now should the flue be set up higher and also should I have quotes for new duct work for the furnace and the water heater and used double walled flue?

    thanks

It should be installed per National Fuel Gas Code, National Plumbing Code, local code and manufacturer's instructions. Anything less is unacceptable and very possibly dangerous to humans.

Well if the code calls for B-vent and you don't have it, then you're not in compliance. Also, most times a fan assisted furnace cannot be installed in the same vent connector pipe as an atmospheric gas water heater.
