I know I'm "green" but should I be treated like this?! ADVICE please!

What's up everyone,I'm asking for your input or any advice with a few issues. I've been working for a Hvac company since Jan,an it's getting worse each an everyday. Let me explain...I'm 21 was stuck in retail an figured I'd get into something I always wanted to learn not just for a hobby but a career. Our office is at my bosses house,he stresses me everyday to be there at a certain time,I'm always early atleast 10 mins early.I sit and wait for him for 2 and a half to three hours a day just to leave to go run service or a job underway.while I'm waiting for him he's in his room drinking or smoking while everyone else comes in an leaves while I'm still waiting.Now...on our way to the job he's still drinking an smoking.once we get to a job we are there for a few hours we leave so I work for 3 or 4 hours a day.On other days I'm getting cussed out over nothing or yelled at in front of everyone for the littlest stuff or over nothing.I do understand more an more everyday how stuff works an how to do it.BUT I don't feel he's teaching me correctly.we don't even recover for gods sake! The office guys make more then the guys in the field,he treats everyone unfairly. He's not worried about sending me to classes.Says he's paying for my college by me working for him.I love this trade an all this has me second guessing it.Does anyone have any advice or input for me? Thanks (sorry there's no paragraphs,I'm using my phone)

Get a new job. Start looking asap. Do you have any hvac schooling/experience other than this company?

I've been looking but everyone wants two to three years of experience. I know I can't stay here for that long. I've applied at a few places, followed up with phone calls and nothing has came up,I've even went into a few places to give them my resume and nothing came of it either. Yes,this is my first job doing Hvac work. All the other guys say it's wrong how I'm treated an are surprised I haven't left yet..I feel like I'm the designated driver everyday.

Its OK not to be a quitter but it sounds like your his BABYSITTER ( I have no use for DRUNKS / DRUGHEADS ) and your not going to gain anything from sticking it out.

I feel the same way,I know it's a long road with this career and I don't see why I'm getting treated like this.I'm just trying to learn.

Yes , get outta that trash ASAP!!!

There are plenty of contractors who will treat you decent.

And it's a shame that a young , newcomer who is interested in the trade may have to be determined to find a good employer.

The shops should be welcoming with open arms and a friendly genuine smile.

The new generation that cares is exactly what this trade needs to sustain.

Danimal535 has a great idea for ya.
