Have it...love it...it is greatness!. It is much better than the testo 550 a great warranty with excellent customer service, what else could you ask for. I highly recoomend it, you won't be disappointed. Lots of info on the Sman3 in the tools section.

I like them when working on systems that i dont have a pt chart for the refrigerant. other than that there big and bulky. i wish i had never bought them. guages and thermometer a lot easier to lug around. now if you have a hard time figureing out sc and sh then they probably would work for you. i think the just better guages are not as bulky and i would probably like them better. they will work on heat pumps or any refrigeration / ac unit.

Just tried out my new Fieldpiece SMAN3, yes it's worth the money. MUCH Easier to use than I had imagined. My Mastercool Digital gauges will be up for sale on eBay very soon. I'll use some of that to recoop my investment. Oh, yeah-don't be afraid to ask your supplier to match online pricing. They will.

Have the SMAN3 and am very happy. A bit bulky yes, but that means a larger screen to be easy on my eyes. I also take pix of the pressures/temperatures, superheat and subcool, transfer them to my computer, and have a digital record that requires no filing cabinet. I also offer to email them to home owners/landlords or maintenance supervisors witch coincidentally gets many customer email addresses for the company.
In my opinion they are a great investment!

One of the best things about them is the bright yellow casing with giant digital screen. It really grabs the customers attention and curiosity. They are always saying "wow, the last company out here didn't use anything like that". It automatically adds credibility in the customers mind therefore we are worth more and should charge more. It is all about perspective.

Thanx for the input guys, I been doing some research and asking around and im alittle convinced that testo 557 is better than sman3- although i have no doubts that sman3 is good. I cant find more than 2 videos of sman3 on youtube. when i check testo on youtube i actually see the techs using it on equipment, rather than showing its durability and break free techniques lol- that was pretty cool though. also was told that its a china made product vs german made< and testo even went as far as to have a excel spread sheet comparison of the sman3 and testo557 everything looks better for testo on you tube and on paper for me. Any input on this. Thanx guys

Is that spread sheet on line? It doesn't sound like something "testo" would put out there. Also I don't think the SMAN is MIC but testo has stuff MIC like a lot of MFG do.
The SMAN3 micron gauge is more accurate than the 557 on paper but not as good as the BluVac. I saw poor results with the SMAN3 gauge built into the manifold side by side with the BluVac but they say they made a few changes to the manifold so far so results may be different now.

With either unit you are stuck with the manifold they are attached to and the testo looks better to me.
