I have a question about the G2FD046H17 multi-position coil. My question is that it comes shipped with an drain pan extension that according to direction it extends into supply air plenum. The problem I have is that I am using a variable speed blower NVSB1206X which the coil will attach to instead of a suply plenum. There seems to be no room for this extension between the air handler and coil. I have been installing york for some time and this is the first time using this particular coil. Its the only GF2D family coil I have seen this extension. The only reason using this coil now is to achieve 13 seer.

I can't find a reference to anything like that on the York cd, except a water guard, at the back of the coil.

What outdoor unit are you using?

The outside unit will be a ERC030S06. And I think your right Beenthere it is a water guard but I see no way of installing it with the two piece air handler

    Heat pump, E1RC030S06 + N1VSB12 + G2FD036(s,h)17 =13 seer, 11.50 eer.

My cd doesn't show a list for the 46 coil to match to that outdoor unit.

I gave you the wrong model. That model number is a 12 seer unit. I do not have my match up guide here. The heat pump is actually 13 seer but will achieve 14 seer with vs blower.

The ERE series gets 14.85 seer using the 46 coil.

Sorry, I'm getting side tracked from your original concern.

We had the same thing some years ago, with one of those coils, but it was going on a horizontal furnace so it wasn't a problem.

    Sorry, can't help you.

i think that the splach guard is use when the coil is used in a blow thru horizontal application, when used as as a pull thru it is not needed
