Hi everyone, Great website. I'm addicted to it and i'm not even in the trade. Engineer by trade, must be in my blood.
A quick question to all before I call my local HVAC co.
I had good luck over the summer running my blower 24/7 on really hot weeks. Would like to try it this winter too. But I only have a single speed blower.
"Is it possible to add a 2sp blower to this unit, and what is everyones opinion on running the blower after the furnace or a/c has shut down"

To reciprocate for the knowledge I have learned here.
Here is another webite I was addicted too over the summer.
It is a forum about oil...synth and dino. Awsome too.
"Is it possible to add a 2sp blower to this unit,
probably, not worth the effort or money........
and what is everyones opinion on running the blower after the furnace or a/c has shut down"
furnace.......you`ll get cool drafts
my suggestion look into the focus pro or vision pro t-stats
Fan option CIRC makes sure the blower runs NLT 20 minutes each hour
It`s better to be silent and thought the fool; than speak and remove all doubt.
definately don't waste your money on putting in a two speed blower. You probably will get drafts in the winter time but you will have to try it and see how you like it. Everyone is different when it comes to their comfort level.
A 2 speed isn't a variable speed,
it's a multi-speed.
If you try to fail, and succeed.
Which have you done ?
Try it, if you don't like it, then turn it back to auto.
try a "fanhandler" converts almost any existing motor with a good service factor to variable drive controlled by temperature
