Got sent out for a possible no cool at a shelter in SOUTH Phoenix.
They installed a new system within the last few months. Since the last time I was here anyway.
You've got all of your typical traits that must be TAUGHT habits at this company.
Starting with NEVER tightening king valve caps. note the amount of oil and dirt film around the caps already!
Two of three schrader caps had NO ORINGS. They must have dropped them...
And they must have known, because you can see teeth marks of plyers or something where someone tightened the snot out of this plastic cap missing the o-ring.
I have to carry a **** load of new schrader caps because of these guys.
Then back up to this lovely attic I so much enjoy each maintenance/breakdown call I get here.
They installed this new air handler.
Note something FISHY about the secondary drain line???
Looks like it's going to do a lot of good.
And here's what pisses me off about this install depo and the **** jobs they do.
There is a smaller air handler right behind this larger one. It was a ***** to access before. And they just went and installed this new unit right back in front of it.
Good luck ever removing THAT blower!
I looked around. there was PLENTY of room to flip the unit and install between the next set of trusses. Then it would have been much better where I could have walked in between the two units, having the access panels facing each other (with 30 inches of space) and been able to access them both.
Fukk n a, but they would have had to do some extra thinking and cut out a section of hard duct for that. And since this is ALL piece work....
You get the idea. BLOW and GO!

If I worked for your company, one of 3 things would have happened within the first month.
1.) Fired for making a stink over this **** and calling them on it each and every time, and explaining to the customers why what they got was substandard crap.
2.) Quit, making as much noise as I could on the way out, burning all bridges behind me, and telling customers why what they got was substandard crap.
3.) Multiple life sentences for going postal and killing everyone in the company I could get to before the cops pulled me down.If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.

it looks like that secondary drain was at one time tied into the main drain line. when they started up the unit, they noticed the condensated was backing up into the secondary pan, so they cut it out, flipped the secondary drain up 90 degrees and put a coupling in the main drain

WOW Mark. I knew people would call it CRAP. But that was very interesting
Yeah. I definitely try to let them know about the problems.
Sad thing is that to MOST people I know around here, they all think this is NORMAL around here. And think we should just deal with it since "it's the trade we chose to be in", etc yada yada...
Where I was from, more than one installer had pride, so it was actually easy to spot the HACK where down here a great deal is truly hacked. I will NEVER take this **** as being NORMAL.
I heard that one of the salesmen (consultants) is actually taking his own pix AFTER install and going back to the depo to have some things corrected. Smart man.
Makes sense. He wants it good so the customer is satisfied and gives him even more leads.
I've went as far as posting a few of these pix on the wall in the shop. But they never stay up very long
Craig, what's funny is how I've told many people down in this area that the secondary drain from the secondary pan and the secondary OUTLET of the primary pan is supposed to have it's OWN drain plumbed where you would notice it, NOT in the back 40 of a home, etc.
They think I make the **** up.

you do replace the plastic caps with brass ones, right? I know you probably do, but I had to ask.
